Vanity Plates Make me Smile

By Renae Hoffmann Walker

Editor’s note: This is a follow-up to an article Renae wrote in the October 2017 issue of Inspired Woman, in which she admits she has vanity plate envy. She calls it her “geeky habit” to notice personalized plates!

If you’re like me, you take the license plates the state gives you. But I have to admit, those people who take the time to get vanity plates for their vehicles do make me smile every day. So here’s a shout out to those who…

Made me laugh: BUMRMAN and FLWRPWR (guess I’m showing my age), LOOZNIT, MANCAV3, OOO BBY, ITSRTOY, FLYINGF, and OLHIPPY—surrounded by a license plate clover that reads “Support Your Police.”

Drive trucks or pickups: GOGRANY, CTRYBOY, FLR IT, SPOILT, BLUBOSS, BOW&ARO, PINBALL, BITSY, and 1TUFGRL.

Describe their rides: AWSMRDE, SUN&FUN on a convertible, GOLFBAL on a white Volkswagon, TOPSHLF on an Escalade, BUGSIE on a light green VW Beetle, MYSTORM on a dark grey Honda, JEEP4JOY on a red Jeep, LADIKIA on a Kia Sorento, 7 OF US on a minivan, FUN4 4, FIERC3, MADFVW on another VW, CUBE QT on a Nissan Cube, LILCAR2 on a Toyota Prius, and EVILVET on a red Corvette.

Are lady drivers: GRMTAXI, KATHSGT, TNYDNCR, 4 DA MA, DEEZTOY, AQUAMOM, LISAMRE, GABBYS, JOSAFNE, IRISHLS, YODAGAL, SPARKLZ, MOMSHEL and MYBRIDZ.

Send messages: BEORGNC, JST FAB, LVJESUS, GR8SOUL, MAKU1DR, B ACTIV, LISTEN, HIGHFVE, BCK OFF, MVOVR, PUNCHIT, 2INSPIR, GD2BEME, ROKSTAR, KWBOYUP, BEEMEUP, KDSRGR8, ROCK IT, and HUG.

Promote jobs or hobbies: HOOK YOU on a tow truck, FSHNHNT, GITAR, WHY RENT, UM PROF, PLASTIX, ANGLER1, 1GRTCNA, DRILLND, PLUMBR5, DSIGN, SEABASS, ND1CALL, PANCAKS, USBEEF, TAXDRMST, JOBBERS, LUV2FSH, GRAPHIX, I AM AG, HARTMD, BABYDOC, EATPIZA, SDLUP, LV2SING, and ADRNDCK on The Chair Guy’s vehicle.

I think I want to meet: DRGNFLI license plate. A dragonfly symbolizes mental and emotional security and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. On the back window of this vehicle was a cowboy cartoon with guns blazing and the message “Back Off.” One side window had an outline of a Barbie young woman with a ponytail reading a book. The other had a helicopter shooting at a stick figure family. Hmmm….I sense a story!
