While specialized treatment clinics have been established in North Dakota, the opioid addiction crisis continues to plague families and individuals. Heartview Foundation’s Drug and alcohol treatment and education program in Bismarck has made some essential changes in its opioid addiction treatment program.

Cathy Palczewski, a recreational therapist, has introduced some of them — including the use of essential oils for anxiety and pain.
