17-year old Isabelle Mihm is following her dream to be an artist. Her work has been already featured in juried art shows at Bismarck Art and Galleries Association (BAGA). She also has a following on Instagram, where you will find many sketches and portraits of faces—human and animal.
“Faces are difficult to be really good at. I’m trying to expand my artistry, drawing people that I follow on Instagram to get a better feeling of portraits.”
Isabelle is also mastering pet portraits. She has commissioned several pieces of artwork for people who want their
pet’s likeness captured on canvas.
“When it comes to pet commissions or commissions in general I like colored pencil. But other stuff I really like painting. Otherwise, I just dabble in other mediums.”
Isabelle will be a senior at Century High School this fall. Life as an artist is her dream, but this A-student has a plan-B in mind, too.
“I really hope to be able to sell my art and make a living. My second dream is to go into teaching because that’s something I’m passionate about.”
