Stella Baetsch has become such a good friend to us during this journey as magazine publishers. We wanted to give her a little extra space to say goodbye. We wish you well in retirement, Stella!
A big thank you to our wonderful customers who have become dear friends through these past 25+ years. Thank you for your support. When I started this adventure I wasn’t sure I would make this cake business a real business, but you have made it possible for me to continue.
This has been a hard decision, but MagiCandle Cakery will be closing this fall. Good Lord willing. We don’t have an exact date, as we are hoping someone will be able to continue where we have left off.
We opened our doors on May 5, 1993. These past 25 years have been the best, but have flown by way too fast. It is now time for my husband (he is my office guru) and me to take another path.
We have been privileged to be a part of very special days in your lives. Cakes for bridal and baby showers, reveals, baptisms, first communions, confirmations, graduations, birthday, holidays, and “just because we want a cake” cakes. What a pleasure it has been to see the same faces for different occasions though the year.
It gives me such a good feeling to have been a part of so many people’s cake decorating lives. Teaching and watching my students develop their decorating skills gives me so much joy. I have taught the art of cake decorating for the past 37 years to about 3,000 plus students. A long time ago, when I was just a kid, my grandma said I’d be a teacher. Bet it didn’t enter her mind that it would be cake decorating.
My staff and I enjoy helping solve our customers cake decorating challenges. It is so great when a person we have tried to help comes back and says, “Thank you for the help with my cake. It turned out just the way I wanted.” Sometimes they say, “It turned out even better than I expected.” That makes our day.
Thank you again for supporting the MagiCandle Cakery. My staff — Carol, Cheryle, Dawn and my husband Weldee, and I will miss all of you very much.
